Corsica or the Island of Beauty… you dream of it! For the first time or always this same desire to come back. The domain derives its name from an ancestral agricultural practice.
The Aghja, on an area of m2 4,500 in the middle of wild nature, inhabited by holm oaks and olive trees, is there, nestled between sea and maquis at 200 meters above sea level offering to your eyes the splendid panorama of the bay of Cupabia which beach is one of the most beautiful in Corsica. The Aghja was the threshing ground which, for centuries, was used to beat wheat for the entire Taravo region and beyond, the Valinco golfe.
You will love its beauty, its calm, its spirit of freedom. The serene atmosphere of the place is accompanied by the scents of Mediterranean plants, the maquis including the endemic “Immortelle”, listening to the song of cicadas.
The sun shines its rays early in the morning illuminating the pool with natural water springing up from the source of the domain at a depth of 140 meters to fade late at night into the sea.
The pleasure of being together by the pool, playing during the “aperitif” a party of pétanque on the bowling field or a game of table football… or table-tennis… and at night, join his own island of private life.
The domaine de l’Aghja is like no other. You will have the feeling of living there “singularly”. I will be happy to welcome you.

Sheep barns between sea and maquis
Three distinct habitats compose the Domain.
The domain can accommodate 8 people.
A CASA It is the main house. Built of old stones, it was originally the stable of the domain.
U CASEDU The house of the shepherd in the maquis, the oldest of the domain.

There is still the old fireplace that allowed the shepherd to cook and warm up.

It also has a solar shower and dry toilets surrounded by holm oaks and olive trees.
A CASA
On the ground floor, the living room overlooking the pool consists of a sitting area with a bench with two single beds, a table for lunch inside in case of cooler weather and a fully equipped kitchen including an American-style fridge and freezer. You will find the washing machine in the laundry room.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with a child’s bed. The view on the pool and beyond on the sea, is superb. A bathroom with shower and toilet is adjacent to the bedroom.
A CABANA
A master bedroom, overlooking the maquis, with a bathroom basin, is also equipped with a solar shower and dry toilet surrounded by holm oaks and olive trees.
The mirror pool
The sky reflects in its water giving you the feeling of swimming in a mountain lake…
Thanks to the purity of its spring water and its ultra-violet treatment system, the domain’s swimming pool is entirely natural, without chlorine or salt.
The little ones will enjoy this beautiful water in completely safe environment (alarm) and the great athletes will recognise a spirit of challenge in the counter-current swimming with the turbine in the 11m x 5m pool.
Some will appreciate the elliptical stepper facing the sea.
As for the dreamers, the white noise of the waterfall will softly guide them in their own escape.
The garden
The barbecue facing the swimming pool and the sea, in the shade of a plane tree murier, will enable you enjoy, among other things, the Corsican veal brochettes or the fish caught the night before.
A large table and a summer lounge are at your disposal for your convivial moments.
The games
The pétanque court, the table football and the table tennis for your playful moments.
The region
The domain of the Aghja is located in Tassinca, in the commune of Serra-di-Ferro in the lower Taravo. It is an hour drive from the cities of Ajaccio or Bonifacio and its magnificent limestone cliffs.
Porto Pollo, the harbor of the commune, opens onto the Valinco golf course, opposite Propriano, a renowned seaside resort. (corsicamore.fr ; la-corse-autrement.com)
A few minutes away from the domaine, many activities and services are available to you.
Sea Side
- The wonderful beach of Cupabia with its nautical base offers you all kinds of activities and Waïkiki Beach, its straw hut, will delight you if you feel like enjoying grilled fish on the beach.
- The harbor of Porto Pollo offers to sailors its sailing school and its diving centre, surfing is also on the menu for unforgettable discoveries of one of the most beautiful sites on the island. The harbor also offers you the possibility of renting sailboats, catamarans and motorboats.
Mountain side
- Treeclimbing, canyoning, climbing, hiking, swimming in the « bassines » are all great moments to share.
- The tavaro
- The region is also known for its horse riding activities.
- Many hikes are also possible in the immediate vicinity of the domain.
Services and village
- Marc, our fine grocer/fisherman from Porto Pollo, comes to the domain every Friday, and upon prior order, will deliver fish according to catch of the day and the delicious and typical Corsican dishes cooked by Cathy.
- With click-and-collect, Matteu, our pizzaiolo from Serra-di-Ferro, will prepare for you the best wood-fired pizzas in the region.
- Spit roasted veal accompanied by traditional Corsican songs is a perfect setting for a delicious evening at the San Petru on the square in Serra-di-Ferro.
- And, of course, throughout the summer, chapels and churches resound in echo with these typically moving polyphonic songs.
- Grocery stores, a tobacconist and newsagent’s, a pharmacy and a medical practice are all close by at the Porto Pollo harbor.
